A former U.S. Chamber of Commerce executive is joining the $230 million-revenue American Petroleum Institute as COO—the latest in a series of staff changes as CEO Mike Sommers takes the reins of the oil and gas industry group.
Amanda Eversole will join API later this fall as COO, a new position at the association. She most recently was managing director and head of public affairs at JPMorgan Chase, but before that she was president of the Chamber’s Technology Engagement Center.
Eversole is the first major hire for Sommers, who recently succeeded Jack Gerard as head of API. Sommers was chief of staff to former Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) before joining the American Investment Council as CEO in 2016.
