Free coffee, conference rooms and roof access. Have you heard? The $1.7M-revenue Hearing Industries Association’s new digs are pretty swanky. Every weekday morning, HIA President Kate Carr leaves her apartment in Washington, D.C.’s Eastern Market neighborhood and walks right next door to her new headquarters in The Yard, a coworking office just blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

“Really, it’s absolutely ideal for us,” Carr said. “It’s quiet, it’s business-oriented and everybody is here to work. … Nearly everyone in the company showed up here for our board of directors meeting and the board members loved it.”
