Industry disruption should not be feared by association executives but instead seen as an opportunity to lead.
That was the message of four prominent association chiefs at the CEO Update Live: Disruption Forum Wednesday morning at the The Willard InterContinental hotel in Washington, D.C. Nearly 90 association executives and others attended.
“This is the new normal,” said Barbara Byrd Keenan, CEO of The Endocrine Society and one of four panelists at the event. “(We are) helping our members get comfortable with that. This is an opportunity for us to lead our profession.”
That profession—researchers and physicians specializing in hormonal diseases such as diabetes—is being roiled by demographic and technological change.
