Recruiters say ability to lead through disruption is top attribute boards seek today

Members are demanding more of their associations than ever at a time when the world seems to be shifting under their feet.

That has placed a premium on CEOs who can navigate associations and the industries they represent through economic, political and demographic change with a combination of business smarts and vision.

“We are seeing a strong desire for individuals who have the experience and capability to lead through disruption in various industries or associations,” said Lorraine Lavet, head of the national association practice at executive search firm Korn Ferry.
