Departures leave U.S. Chamber with interim media team

March 15, 2019

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has appointed an interim media team after most of its press staff left for other jobs—moves coming not long after the departure of longtime communications head Blair Latoff Holmes in January.

Katherine Knight, senior manager of media and external communications, recently stepped down to join the $13M-revenue Association for Advanced Life Underwriting as VP of communications. At the same time, Stacy Day, director of media and external communications, has joined American Airlines as senior specialist of communications, according to Politico.

The Hill, which first reported on the departures, said two other members of the Chamber’s communications team left in February. The organization didn’t identify the two former staffers when contacted by CEO Update.

The $253M-revenue Chamber named Eric Wohlschlegel as acting VP of media and external communications. He was most recently director of media relations at the American Petroleum Institute but previously led the Chamber’s media team as executive director of communications.
