Experts: Too early to tell effect of mergers on AMS market

Creation of Community Brands brought together three software providers that count thousands of associations as customers

More than a year after three large association management software providers consolidated under a single brand, the overall impact of the business deal on the association community remains unclear, according to two technology experts.

Last year, AMS providers Abila and Aptify joined with YourMembership to form Community Brands, a single umbrella entity that provides services to more than 13,000 associations and nonprofits, according to a statement from the company. Both Abila and YourMembership were part of previous acquisitions or mergers. Since then, Community Brands has continued to absorb technology providers that serve nonprofits, most recently acquiring event technology company Expo Logic.
