Virtual reality? Been there, done that. The future, at least for the Food Processing Suppliers Association, is augmented reality.

FPSA announced earlier this year that it would set aside a section of its October PROCESS EXPO trade show for augmented reality presentations. The move is a first for the association, although the group’s previous show in 2017 included a showroom for VR exhibits.

“One thing that our show committee has recognized going back a few years now, it’s that the customers are busier than ever, and getting them to come to a trade show, just having the exhibits and the education, is not enough,” said Andy Drennan, senior vice president at FPSA. “They don’t have the time, so we had to come up with more floor activities that really reached out to them and provided more value for the show.”
