Frank Hugelmeyer is trading RVs for boats as he takes on his third chief executive role in the outdoor recreation industry. The National Marine Manufacturers Association announced May 17 that it had selected Hugelmeyer, president of the RV Industry Association, to succeed longtime leader Thom Dammrich.
“Our goal coming in is to continue to grow boating, elevate advocacy and address technical workforce recruiting into the industry,” Hugelmeyer told CEO Update. Corporate social responsibility is another issue he said he intends to address, continuing NMMA’s tradition of conservation while addressing the impacts of climate change that are already being felt on boating infrastructure and the coasts.
