After nearly two decades espousing the benefits of the vacation timeshare industry, Howard Nusbaum says he is ready to step down and “go walk the walk,” by traveling to resorts and other destinations on his own time.

Nusbaum will retire as CEO of the American Resort Development Association in 2019. He told CEO Update that the search committee’s goal is to introduce a new leader at the association’s 50th anniversary convention in April in Orlando.

“I’ve made a commitment to stick around during the process,” Nusbaum said. “What’s more important is finding the right match” than adhering to a schedule.
