Report Names Metro D.C. Talent Capital

A new report names the Washington, D.C. region as a talent capital of the country, attracting more than 1.1 million knowledge workers and the highest concentration of educated professionals in a major U.S. city.

For years, members of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers
Association and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute talked
about merging, but neither group could agree on an arrangement. A combined organization made sense to Jack Klimp, a
retired Marine with a second career running nonprofit groups and
associations. Since the board approved the merger in December, Klimp has been at the
helm of the consolidated, $20 million revenue industry group with one
of the largest lobbying forces for HVAC in Washington.

The Nation’s Capital Distinguished Speakers Series generally hosted four events a year during its 13 years in existence. This year the series draws to a close after only three events at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in Washington, D.C.
