Question: I worry about age discrimination. How can older candidates avoid falling prey to it?

Executive search firms, and of course, hiring organizations, must abide by all federal, state and local laws with regard to non-discrimination for any reason. One thing a candidate can do is demonstrate they have stayed current in their skills and experience. Is your CAE current? Have you stayed up-to-date on the latest trends in social media? You don’t have to be a Twitter expert but you should demonstrate an understanding of how important social media is. Did you oversee those efforts at your current organization? What were the results? Do you have a complete LinkedIn profile?
