Ito to retire from credit union supervisors
Lucy Ito announced she will retire at the end of the year as CEO of the Arlington, Va.-based National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors. She was named CEO in 2014. “Working with both regulators and credit unions over my entire career has been tremendously fulfilling,” Ito said. “It has been a true privilege to work alongside the very best in the industry and to lead NASCUS over these past seven years.”
Ito advocates for state agencies that supervise 2,020 state-chartered credit unions and represent $934 billion in assets—more than half of all U.S. credit union assets. NASCUS reported $3.4M revenue in 2019. The association credits Ito with establishing a network for state regulators through committees and events, such as the National Meeting for State Regulators, which was launched in 2016 and is held each spring.
