American Academy of PAs promotes Gables
Lisa Gables has been named CEO of the American Academy of PAs, a $29M-revenue group representing more than 140,000 physician assistants. Gables was AAPA’s interim CEO since June 2019, replacing Jennifer Dorn, while also working as CFO and chief development officer. Gables joined AAPA in 2012 as executive director of the PA Foundation. The group is based in Alexandria, Va.
Before joining AAPA, Gables was executive director of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Foundation and ASCP’s chief development and program officer. She was also executive director of the National Adult Day Services Association, CFO of the National Council on Aging and VP of finance and business development for Active Services Corp.
She is a certified public accountant with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
