Association turns to Amazon to reach potential customers

International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials seeks to reach third-party sellers who use the retail giant’s site

The retail giant Amazon hosts numerous third-party sellers who use the site to pitch a variety of goods and services to customers, and at least one association sees those sellers as a potential audience for its own offerings.

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials recently joined the Amazon Service Provider Network, an online marketplace connecting Amazon sellers to companies and organizations that provide business services. The listing is a first for IAPMO and the result of going through what the association said was a rigorous process to ensure the organization could deliver on its promises.

 “We’re noticing more and more manufacturers that are selling products on Amazon,” said Shirley Dewi, senior vice president of management systems registration services for IAPMO. The catch, she added, is not all those products have been tested and certified.
