The association representing the audiovisual industry wants to make sure people hear and see a diverse range of speakers at its events, so it is changing the criteria used for finding presenters.
AVIXA recently announced that for the first time it will ask for demographic information in its call for presenters at events, starting with its next annual trade show, InfoComm 2021, currently scheduled for June 12-18 in Orlando. Diversity will be one of the key criteria the association uses in selecting presentations, along with factors such as actionable takeaways and unique takes on the latest trends.
