For the new head of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the ties to the firearms industry run deep.
Joseph Bartozzi joined the Newtown, Conn.-based NSSF late last year as president, with CEO added to his title on Jan. 6. He previously spent 32 years at firearms manufacturer O.F. Mossberg & Sons in a variety of positions, most recently as general counsel. His grandfather spent 35 years working at the now-closed Winchester Repeating Arms factory in New Haven, Conn. In fact, one of Bartozzi’s first jobs was with a manufacturing company that provided metal stampings for gunmakers, which required him to sometimes make trips to the factory.
