The $8.1M-revenue Aluminum Association in Arlington, Va., announced Tom Dobbins will join the group as CEO, effective March 16. Dobbins has led the American Composites Manufacturers Association, also in Arlington, since 2006.
“Tom is a well-known and dynamic leader in materials manufacturing and a Washington veteran,” said Marco Palmieri, Aluminum Association chair. “Tom’s extensive experience in public policy advocacy and association management make him a perfect fit to help move the aluminum industry forward during this critical time.”
Dobbins succeeds Heidi Brock, who left The Aluminum Association in fall 2019 to become CEO of the American Forest & Paper Association. Prior to ACMA, Dobbins was the director of partnership outreach for the Internal Revenue Service. He was also director of government affairs for the American Council of Engineering Companies.
