It's the moment many associations have waited more than a year for: the chance to bring people together again in person. Now that states and cities have lifted restrictions on large gatherings, in-person meetings are slowly starting to make a comeback. The pace will likely pick up in August and the fall, when a number of groups have hybrid shows planned.
The North American Veterinary Community held its annual meeting, called VMX, as a hybrid event in Orlando June 5-9. Of the roughly 10,500 attendees, nearly 7,700 attended in person. Participants were required to do daily temperature checks, wear a mask at all times in public areas and maintain physical distancing.
