In a field that’s full of membership organizations, why should people join yours?

That’s the question Monika Schulz seeks to answer as she leads the National Society of Professional Engineers into its 88th year.

“We are in an incredibly crowded marketspace with technical societies and obviously the identity societies,” including societies for women, Hispanic and Black engineers, she said. “What is the unique value that NSPE brings to the PE community and the engineers and training community?”

Schulz became CEO of NSPE in February after more than five years as CEO of the American String Teachers Association. She previously spent 18 years at the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, including six years as COO.
