Posting salary ranges as a way to boost equity

Pay transparency slow to catch on among associations

When the Association of Fundraising Professionals relaunched its job board a year ago, it included a somewhat unusual requirement: Every posting must state the salary range for the position. The Arlington, Va.-based association lost customers over the requirement; the job board opened with just 100 job listings.

But the number of postings has quadrupled over the past year. This tells AFP CEO Mike Geiger that more and more employers are comfortable posting salary ranges.
