Profile: Kyle McSlarrow, Nat'l Cable and Telecommunications Assn

March 15, 2007

Kyle McSlarrow has held almost every job in Washington.

So when cable industry leaders set out to find a “general” to lead their trade group, McSlarrow fit the bill.
He had served as a captain in the U.S. Army and as assistant to the General Counsel in the Secretary of the Army’s office.  But he’s also worked as an associate in a Washington law firm, served as chief of staff for several former senators, ran national political campaigns and even did a stint as vice president for government affairs at, a private Internet firm.

In 2005, NCTA recruited him away from the Department of Energy, where he was chief operating officer with oversight of 100,000 federal employees and a $23 billion budget.
