A new survey suggests that the Trump administration’s tariffs on goods from China and other countries have taken a bite out of U.S. trade show profits, although three groups contacted by CEO Update said the impacts have been non-existent to mixed for them.
The Center for Exhibition Industry Research contacted 129 trade show executives in August for a short “pulse poll” about the impact of tariffs on their U.S.-based shows in 2018 and the first half of 2019. The sample included an even mix of executives from association-run and independently run trade shows.
