Search Expected at Nat’l Civic League

A search to replace
former president Christopher Gates at the National Civic League is
expected to begin shortly.  The NCL, founded in 1894, is a Denver,
Co.-based organization dedicated to strengthening citizen democracy.

More Associations Call Capital Home

Expensive housing, high salaries and record-setting commercial office
rates haven’t kept national associations and professional societies
from making the nation’s capital their hub of business.

Securities Associations to Merge

The boards of directors of the Securities Industry Association and the Bond Market Association voted last week to merge the two organizations. If the merger receives a vote of approval by member firms, the new organization will be called the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). 

A member vote is expected by the end of July.
