The pandemic offers ample evidence of why creativity and innovation are important. In many instances over the past year, it has been staff creativity and innovation that have kept associations alive and relevant.

Executive turnover often presents an opportunity to introduce new skills, additional talents and fresh perspectives. Many search committees want new leaders with a track record of innovation, and they are trying to think outside the box by considering candidates from different-but-related areas or specialties.
